BIO

Fredy V (coming to Hornby as a 5-piece band) is a versatile artist, wearing multiple hats as a singer, bassist, producer, and musical director. Originating from Senegal and Cape Verde, Fredy V first made waves in Washington DC before immersing himself in the vibrant cultural scene of Montreal. With vocal versatility, songwriting prowess, and an undeniable stage presence, Fredy has collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Aiza, Anomalie, Malika Tirolien, Snarky Puppy, Kool & The Gang, and Roy Ayers.

Fredy's solo journey took a significant turn after facing a life-threatening health scare. Driven by unwavering resilience, he joined forces with esteemed vocalist Mel Pacifico along with members of his backing band to create the dynamic ensemble known as Fredy V & The Foundation. The group's collective experience spans producing and performing for CBC/Radio-Canada prime time TV, collaborating with artists like Lou Phelps, Zach Zoya, Shay Lia and Kallitechnis, and channelling their momentum into crafting new music together. In the fall of 2020, Fredy V & The Foundation dropped their debut EP, 'ONE STEP,' a self-produced 6-song project seamlessly blending R&B, funk, Afrobeats, and hip hop. Fredy V and The Foundation is on course to becoming major contributors to Canada’s flourishing R&B culture.
