About Us

The Hornby Festival Society is a non-profit, charitable organization that has been showcasing renowned artists from Canada and around the world to islanders and visitors on Hornby Island since 1982.

The festival now features an array of disciplines but is predominantly music. Programming includes world, R&B, soul, pop, rock, jazz, calssical, modern dance, spoken word, art shows, and workshops, and has continued to evolve since its inception. The society aims to involve the rural community in the ongoing creation of Canadian culture, enrich the lives of all islanders and visitors by creating a greater awareness of the arts and culture, and sponsor and promote workshops and demonstrations in the arts.
