Sarah Chase has created over one thousand visual art pieces composed entirely of botanicals gathered in nature. A few years ago, she began a daily practice of walking into the garden and forest to gather leaves, flowers, and bits of growing things. Each morning, she lays them out on a black book and designs a creation. They often become dancers, birds, or animals. Everything seems to be in motion—an endless ballet. The markings, textures, and shapes in plants and flowers reflect a myriad of living creatures. They inherently have motion, costume, and drama. Each morning, she marvels at the limitless choreography of nature. This daily practice has resulted in a unique and moving art show you won't want to miss.

Sarah Chase's nature work expands on her choreographic and storytelling background. Changing with the seasons, these botanical microcosms reveal a deep empathy for nature, a wild and fantastical imagination, and a reverence for all living things. — Maiko Yamamoto, Artistic Director, Theatre Replacement

The magical beings Sarah Chase creates from blossoms, leaves, seeds, and twigs offer an unexpected encounter with the mystery and majesty of life on Earth. Her images invite us into joyful communion with everything that lives. — Peggy Baker, Dance Artist
