The LyricaFest Trio was formed in 2018 as the partnering ensemble of the Citizen’s Artist Orchestra. Sir Elton John has praised the musicians of the trio's playing as “inspired and beautiful.” Performances have taken its members to Carnegie Hall, the Shalini Liu Center, Jordan Hall and the Kennedy Center; the trio is also prize winners in both national and international competitions. A 2022 recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Grant, this spring the trio joins with Project Step to bring chamber music coaching to underserved youth. The LyricaFest Trio was recently named Ensemble in Residence at the Arts Ahimsa Music Festival and Boston Medical’s Healthcare for the Homeless Program. The Fest Trio created the Music Gram Project which provides collaborative work for musicians and visual artists in dire need, often struggling with substance abuse and mental wellness. They have received endorsements from Tiffany Glass & Decorating Company, Merrill Lynch, and their community in Lincoln, MA where their members reside. Other upcoming projects include a residency with Boston’s Community Music School and the LyricaFest Music Festival.
Tyler Michael James, cello, toured as principal cellist of the National Tour of Miss Saigon and regularly performs with Lyrica Boston, the Fermata Chamber Soloists, the Cherry Street Players, Red Door Chamber Music, and Arts Ahimsa. Tyler has performed chamber music with the likes of Peter Zazofsky, Andrés Cárdenes, Doris Stevenson, and Allison Elridge and has additionally been a guest cellist with the Horzowski Trio and Castle of Our Skins. Tyler is currently an Artist Diploma Candidate at the Longy School of Music under the tutelage of Dr. Terry King and Phoebe Carrai.
Laura Bossert-King, violinist/violist, a Silver Medalist of the Henryk Szeryng International Violin Competition, has earned recognition for her artistry as a soloist, chamber musician, and pedagogue. Laura is one of the most respected and sought-after teachers of her generation. Ms. Bossert teaches at Wellesley College and the Castleman Quartet Program and is the Artistic Director of the LyricaFest and the Citizen’s Artist Orchestra.
Venezuelan violist, conductor and pedagogue Aleksandre Roderick-Lorenz hails from Caracas where their musical foundation began under the auspices of the famed “El Sistema” organization. A versatile musician, Roderick-Lorenz enjoys a dynamic career as soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. Aleksandra performs a wide range of musical genres such as classical, Latin, mariachi, popular, contemporary and modern music and is a member of the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) and the principal violist of the Lyrica Boston Citizen’s Artist Orchestra. In the summer months, Aleksandre leads the viola section of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Summer Philharmonic. As a collaborative artist, Aleksandre has appeared in concert alongside luminaries such as Andrea Bocelli and has appeared as recitalist in Latin America, Europe and the U.S. Aleksandre Roderick-Lorenz’s eclectic career has encompassed performances at the Latin Grammy, Billboard Music Awards, Premios Juventud, Miami Life Awards, Lo Nuestro Awards, and numerous televised appearances for television.
